Message from Famous Dave…
I am so pleased to present to you
my new book LifeSkills for Success in the hope that its life
changing wisdom will make a positive difference in your life. While
many friends and coworkers have always commented on my success,
many of them also know that I have had to overcome many adversities
in my life. I have gone from a life of drinking to a rich and rewarding
life of sobriety. I have gone from academic under-achievement to
completing a Harvard Master’s Degree without even an undergraduate
degree. I have gone from bankruptcy to founding three publicly traded
companies on Wall Street and creating over 18,000 new jobs. And
more recently a presidential appointment by President Bush!
Along the way, I have learned many things the hard way and often
said, “I sure wished I had known these things back when I was
younger!” Over the years, many people who knew me back when
I was having tough times—would often ask me for advice on how
I was able to turn my life around because they were in the same
position or had a close friend or relative that needed a new outlook
on life. This book is the result of my own personal quest to learn
how to become a better person. This information works as I have
proven it time and time again in my own life.
I have not mastered everything in this book and I am still a work
in progress. In fact, it took a major intervention by my family
for me to see past my self-righteous pride and ego to realize that
I was out of control. I can honestly say that I have been my own
worst enemy and I should have been dead three times. God changed
all that, I really believe that he had his protective hand over
my life and kept me alive so that I could share my story with others.
I am thankful for all that God has blessed me with—and now,
I live a life of soberness, gratefulness, and humility.
There are three major life lessons I have learned the hard way over
30 years. First lesson: Everyone must take full responsibility for
where they are in life. You must live your life free from excuses
and blamefulness. Second Lesson: Life is about problems. Problems
are your opportunity not your excuses. The Third Major Lesson: Life
is about giving. Takers Lose and Givers Win! Once you get past asking
“What’s in it for me?” and start asking “How
can I make your life happier!” your life will infinitely become
richer and more meaningful.
